Traditional Korean Martial Arts Program

Train in one art, or train in both. The price is the same either way.

Taekwondo is a Korean unarmed martial art. In Korean, Tae means "to strike or break with foot", Kwon means "to strike or break with fist", and Do means, "way", "method", or "art". Thus Taekwondo may be loosely translated as "the way of kicking and punching." The main goal of the Taekwondo practitioner is to achieve total mind and body control through training.

Taekwondo training includes a system of blocks, kicks, punches, and strikes as well as various take-downs and sweeps. Traditional Taekwondo combines combat techniques, self-defense, sport, exercise, meditation, and philosophy. Taekwondo has been an Olympic event since 2000.
We are former members of the United States Taekwondo Association under the guidance of Founder & President - Grand Master Richard Chun. Following the passing of G.M. Chun in 2017, we continued our association with the Richard Chun Taekwondo Headquarters under the leadership of Grandmaster Fred Kouefati.

We are affiliated with Richard Chun's Taekwondo

Hapkido is a Korean art of self defense. Hapkido includes a vast variety of joint manipulation, weapons defense, throws, ground fighting, kicks and nerve pressure techniques. It is a unique art because it enables one to bring an attacker under complete control by blending with the attacker's oncoming force.
Hapkido contains both long and close range fighting techniques utilizing dynamic kicking and percussive hand strikes. Hapkido emphasizes circular motion, non-resisting movements, and control of the opponent. Practitioners seek to gain advantage through footwork and body positioning to employ leverage, avoiding the use of strength against strength. The art evolved from a closely related jujitsu system which was later combined with kicking and striking techniques of indigenous and contemporary arts.

As lifetime association members, our Hapkido program follows the strict guidelines of the World Hapkido Association under the guidance of President and Grandmaster Tae Jung (now a 9th Dan). Han Ho Martial Arts is currently the only WHA internationally certified and recognized charter school in New York!
